Staying Close to God in a Pruning Season

Hi friends!! I wanted to hop on and give you some tangible tips on how to hold fast to God during a season and time of pruning. I am able to share this with you all because I am closing the door to a season, a long season (two years), of God pruning me. Even in this two years of pruning, it wasn’t all God taking things away, it was also beginning to learn my call in life. In the past two years I have been able to learn so much about the fire that God has put within me.

There is no one or few ways to get through a season of pruning, but it is helpful to have someone else perspective on how they got through there season and allow it to encourage you.

I hope this encourages you!!

The Tips:

1. If you do not truly have a relationship with the Father, seek this out. Having a relationship with Him is number one in getting through any difficult season of life. Knowing who he is and who he says you are is so important, because throughout your pruning the enemy IS going to try and tell you that you are anything but Gods daughter or son.

1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

2. Ask god to show the ways that he speaks to you!! He speaks to us in different ways!! In the same way that God spoke to Moses through a burning bush there is a way he speaks to you in a way that you will grasp hold of and know ti is him.

3. BE HONEST AND VULNERABLE about where you are in life first with God, then yourself  and with the people around you. We are not meant to live this life with all of our emotions bottled up within us. SHARE what you’re going through with the people in your life.

4. Prepare for pressure!! There is going to be intense pressure, because the enemy does not want for you to be in the light. SO be prepared, God is sovereign enough to let it into your life and He is sovereign enough to help you through it. Call on His name

5. Put your self in places where people will speak life into you… but first remember that while people can speak life into you, but if you don’t first have a lick of belief within you that things will change… I promise you that things wont change.

6. How are you looking at the world around? DO you believe that people owe you something? Evaluate what you believe about this world and the people in it. Things change when we begin to change our attitude about life.

Change your attitude. Change your perspective. change your life.
