Qualities of Healthy Leadership!

Hey friends!! Over on my podcast I recorded an episode about healthy leadership! Leadership is something that I have been focusing on a lot more lately and I have realized how much we all have to be leaders in some capacity. Therefore, I wanted to record this podcast for y’all, so that you could have something to come back to when thinking about healthy leadership. To listen to the podcast, click here

  1. Diligence

Proverbs 12:24 ”Diligent hands will rule, but laziness ends in forced labor.”

Our dilligence also shows just how disciplined we are in our leadership and even everyday life. When we are diligent on the path that God sets for us we will have everythin we need within us and what we dont have when we pray God will bring it to us if it glorifies Him.

  2. Able to Discern

Proverbs 18:15 ”The heart of the discerning acquires knowledge, for the ears of the wise seek it out.”

When we grow in discernment, we are better able to hear from the Lord. Someone who is seeking out discernment of the Lord is a prudent person and someone who is chasing after God heart. A prudent person is a person who is acting with and showing care for the future. A prudent person, a person who is constantly seeking God with a sincere heart will improve their faith.

  3. Stands up in adversity

Proverbs 24:10 “If you faint in the day of adversity, Your strength is small”

When we face different struggles in life it truly shows where our faith lies. So if we fall in the face of adversity, it shows that we were placing a lot of faith in what we could do rather than what God can do through us. It also show that we may have a little bit of pride to think that we could do whatever it is that we were attempting on our own.

  4. Stands up under praise

Proverbs 27:21 “The refining pot is for silver and the furnace for gold, And a man is valued by what others say of him.”

This scripture is referencing the words that other people say about us. What we think of who we are as leaders doesnt really matter so much as to what others say about us.

A man is valued by what others say of him: We often know a man’s value more by what others say of him than of what he thinks of himself. A man’s self-estimation can be unreliable.

  5. Listens to both sides of the story

Proverbs 18:17 “The first one to plead his cause seems right, Until his neighbor comes and examines him.”

It’s so important to listen to both sides of a story because that gives us the opportunity to actually care for both parties that have been affected.

“Any man may, in the first instance, make out a fair tale, because he has the choice of circumstances and arguments. But when the neighbour cometh and searcheth him, he examines all, dissects all, swears and cross-questions every witness, and brings out truth and fact.” (Clarke)

    6. Listens before answering

Proverbs 18:13 “He who answers a matter before he hears it, is folly and shame to him.”

Our culture does not listen enough! We are so quick to give a response when most times a person just wants to be be listened to.

He who answers a matter before he hears it: It is common to give a quick, impulsive answer to questions and problems. We respond without thinking, or without hearing the full story, sometimes more interested in what we hope to say than what the matter before us really is. This is “a special snare of the self-important.” (Kidner)

When we are more quick to give a response it can show that we are more interested in ourselves, rather than the person sitting in front of us.

This is a short version of what I talked about on my podcast!! So I would definitely listen to the podcast to get all of the extra tidbits!!

Enjoy your day friend!!
